Celtic could reap the rewards from former flop amid transfer interest, they could land millions

Celtic could be handed a transfer boost this summer after reports suggested a player they sold in January could move on again.

Brendan Rodgers has big plans for the summer and is expected to be busy in the market.

Several Celtic stars will need to move on too, with the future of players such as Luis Palma and Stephen Welsh in doubt.

Strikers appear to be one of the priorities on the shopping list and Mathias Kvistgaarden and David Strelec are two names continuously linked.

New additions could cost a pretty penny and any extra funds made available always help.

Thankfully, Celtic have planned ahead and could be handed a healthy sum of cash as part of a clause they agreed.

Alexandro Bernabei could hand Celtic extra pay day

Alexandro Bernabei never settled in Glasgow and after impressing on loan with Internacional in Brazil, made his move permanent in January 2025.

The young Argentine was sold for around £4m but could be in line for a return to Europe already.

According to the Daily Record, Sevilla are among those interested and thanks to a sell-on clause inserted in his contract, Celtic will be entitled to some of that cash.

Internacional are allegedly struggling financially and posted losses of £6m, meaning they could be forced into selling some prized assets.

Bernabei made 28 appearances for the Hoops, scoring once against Ross County.

Alexandro Bernabei made Celtic history during brief stint

There’s not many highlights to talk about from the full-back’s time at Parkhead, but he was able to write himself into the history books.

Following confirmation of his arrival in 2022, Bernabei became the first Argentine to represent Celtic in the club’s whole history.

It’s an accolade that will keep him in the record books forever.
