Celtic could face another battle with Saudi Arabian cash in their pursuit of Luis Palma.
Earlier on Thursday we told you about our fresh move for the Aris Thessaloniki winger. It certainly seems like the club are keen on 23-year-old Palma who is a full Honduras international and netted 11 league goals last season.
There’s even been another recent report from Greece, saying that Aris are seriously considering our £3.5m offer.
He is clearly someone being monitored by many clubs around Europe. Anderlecht, Torino and Rangers have all been mentioned by various outlets in recent weeks.
So too, in recent hours, have an unnamed Saudi Arabian club. Greek outlet Metro Sport say that a Saudi side have targeted Palma with a four-year contract even mooted.
However, the report also says that Palma has a desire to go to an “advanced league”. That preference could be tested if a large financial offer is made to the player.

The irony in Saudi interest in Palma is that Celtic probably wouldn’t even be after him if Jota hadn’t moved to the country weeks ago.
The Portuguese winger signed for Al-Ittihad at the start of the window. When the big money arrived from Saudi there was little we, or Jota, could do. We’ve been looking for his replacement ever since.
Sadly the void still hasn’t been filled and the window now has little over a week to go.
Celtic need to sign a left-winger before the deadline. Reading the tea leaves, Palma certainly looks like he could be that man. If he is who the club want then it’s time to get a deal done.
In other news, Celtic are hoping to conclude multiple deals in the final week of the transfer window, according to a report
