Celtic face major transfer blow late on as player reportedly fails medical

It wouldn’t be a Celtic transfer deadline day without some late drama.

Celtic have signed one player on deadline day so far after Junior Adamu completed his loan move from Freiburg until the end of the season.

Reports have also suggested that Joel Mvuka and Benjamin Arthur would be coming in to take the total amount of signings to three.

The Hoops have also had to reject a £25m offer for Arne Engels while Johnny Kenny has gone out on loan to Bolton Wanderers.

There were hopes that things could end on a high, however, one transfer is now in doubt.

Joel Mvuka reportedly fails medical

Mvuka looked like he would be the Hoops’ only permanent signing of the day after Celtic agreed a £3m deal.

Martin O’Neill revealed that players were having medicals after the Falkirk win, with the 23-year-old believed to be one of them.

Things have now taken a turn for the worse after Ouest France claimed that the winger has failed a medical.

What will Celtic do now?

This has now put the deal in doubt and it isn’t known if Celtic will go through with the transfer.

With only hours to go until the end of the transfer window, plans have been scuppered and the Bhoys are now going to have to scamper around at the eleventh hour to find a potential replacement.

Once again, Celtic are back to square one and all roads lead to the same culprits as always: the board.
