Sassuolo set to beat Celtic to the race for Kieron Bowie
Football Italia are reporting that Bowie is heading to Sassuolo for around ‘£8.5 million’, and they are set to beat Celtic, Cagliari and Bologna to his signature.
It has also been suggested that the former Hibernian striker, who joined Hellas Verona in January but was relegated to the second tier, is ‘keen to remain in Serie A.’
The report further details how a ‘decisive meeting’ will take place on Tuesday, and Bowie’s future will then become a lot clearer.
Bowie not needed at Celtic
If Celtic had struggled to get Duran or Hogh over the line, or even both, then someone like Bowie probably would have been more needed in Glasgow.
But the fact of the matter is that they have a better pedigree than the former Hibs star. That’s proven by their goals in the Champions League last season.
Plus, you would rather Celtic pay £11 million for Hogh than around ‘£8.5 million’ for Bowie.
Either way, this has probably worked out for all parties.
Bowie remains in Italy, as he desires, and Celtic fans get to see their dream signing – Hogh – in the building and working his magic ahead of the new season.
