Celtic are facing a monumental summer rebuild, and expertly navigating the free-agent transfer market could prove to be an underrated fix for this broken and declining squad.

The English Premier League is currently offering a wealth of out-of-contract talent that could provide valuable experience and quality to Celtic.

67 Hail Hail looked at the players set to be free agents this summer, and who the champions of Scotland can get their claws on, after a report from BBC Sport.

From the possible ambitious push for Manchester City defender John Stones to the previously linked veteran striker, Callum Wilson, at West Ham United.

Would Celtic’s style be better if Greg Taylor was still at the club?

John Stones

It has been announced that Manchester City’s Treble-winning defender will leave upon the expiry of his contract this summer.

On paper, John Stones would be magic for Celtic, but if there are other Premier League clubs in for his signature, then it does make life difficult.

Plus, you suspect him to be on a very strong wage, but if Roberto Martinez is to be Celtic’s next manager, the man who gave Stones his Premier League debut at Everton, then you never know.

Callum Wilson

It hasn’t worked out for Wilson at West Ham. The 34-year-old has spent a lot of time on the bench, and by the time the season is up, the Hammers could be in the Championship.

Either way, Wilson has been linked with Celtic before, and everyone knows the club loves a cheap option when it comes to a striker.

Fraser Forster

Mainly as a back-up option. Third choice. Familiar face around the dressing. Celtic hero Fraser Forster is coming towards the end of his career, and at 38, he is set to leave Bournemouth in the summer.

Adam Webster

An interesting option for a centre-back. Adam Webster has vast amounts of Premier League experience, but injuries have held him back in recent years at Brighton and Hove Albion.

Martin Dubravka

Just like with Forster, another experienced goalkeeping option. With Kasper Schmeichel set to leave, Celtic have been linked with Mat Ryan.

But somebody like Martin Dubravka, who is set to get relegated with Burnley this season, would be a very strong option, and even somebody who is good enough to be first choice.

Illan Meslier

Keeping with the goalkeeping theme. If Celtic don’t see Viljami Sinisalo fit as number one, then another keeper is needed.

Illan Meslier has been linked before, but given that he hasn’t kicked a single ball for Leeds United this season, perhaps the Hoops should stay away.

Andy Robertson

Celtic’s links with Andy Robertson won’t go away until he finds a new club. Tottenham are in the race, but they could get relegated.

Yes, Kieran Tierney is doing an outstanding job. But bringing back another boyhood Celtic fan in Robertson would be magic.

Bertrand Traore

Celtic will certainly be looking at attacking options. One man who can provide that ball-carrying magic from out wide is Bertrand Traore.

Previously, Traore has represented Aston Villa and Ajax. The winger isn’t someone with explosive pace, but he runs with the ball in such an effortless manner.

A player of Traore’s ability would absolutely put defenders in Scotland on their backside again and again. Plus, he is only 30.

Yves Bissouma

Like many Tottenham players, Yves Bissouma has declined in a Spurs shirt, but there is a serious amount of talent there that needs to be unleashed.

Just like Stones, from a wages perspective, this would be tricky. But Bissouma’s ability to dominate a midfield and provide that energy is exactly what Celtic need.

Pull this one off, and it would be some signing. Bissouma was expected to leave Spurs in January, but injury stopped it from happening, and his status at the club hasn’t changed much since, so he is still expected to leave.
