Celtic have already had a bid rejected for forward Mathias Kvistgaarden, according to a report.
Danish outlet BT have posted an update on the Brondby man’s future and it seems like plenty of work needs to be done for him to become a Celtic player.
Kvistgaarden was first linked with the Hoops just over a week ago with Celtic said to be considering a summer move for the striker.
Since then things have been relatively quiet with much of the transfer chat centred around the likes of Luis Palma and Daniel Podence.
But it seems like the club have been working hard in the background, trying to seal a move for the Danish under-21 international.
BT say that Brondby have rejected two bids for Kvistgaarden in recent times. One came from us and totalled 35 million Danish Krone (around £4m) with Celtic making it clear they’d be prepared to pay more.

The other bid is said to have come from MLS side Houston Dynamo who actually have Erik Sviatchenko on their books.
The former Celtic defender even got an unlikely mention in the report, with the Houston side seemingly keen on recruiting Danish talent with a hint of Celtic. Watch out Morten Rasmussen.
Interestingly, the final paragraph of the BT report says that Brondby have an expectation that Kvistgaarden can bring in an amount even greater than our offer in the future.

It seems like we’ll have to go a bit higher if we want to sign him this month. With the window now ticking down and the club more than a bit desperate for players, we might not be in an ideal position.
Regardless, Celtic clearly like what they see with Kvistgaarden and want to bring him on board. We’re set for an intriguing few days on that front.
