Celtic have learned Motherwell’s price tag for reported goalkeeping target Calum Ward.
Ward is reportedly being monitored by Celtic as they anticipate change in their goalkeeping department this summer.
The retirement of Kasper Schmeichel has created a vacancy, regardless of whether or not Viljami Sinisalo is to remain as first-choice.
Steelmen stopper Ward earned plenty of praise last season, both for his shot-stopping and his distribution.

QPR can land Calum Ward for six-figure fee
The Daily Record report that Queens’ Park Rangers are targeting Ward as they sell Murphy Cooper to Plymouth Argyle.
A “significant six-figure fee” will reportedly be enough to land the Englishman.

There are questions over whether Ward is of the standard of a first-choice Celtic goalkeeper – but if Viljami Sinisalo is to remain as number one, he could be an option as a backup.
But the Fir Park goalkeeper is off the back of a stellar campaign which saw him named in the SPFA Team of the Year.
League One side Wycombe Wanderers and Polish side Jagiellonia Bialystok have also been credited with an interest.
He is one of four Motherwell players linked with Celtic this summer. The most prominent is Elijah Just, who is set to leave after an exceptional World Cup.
Premiership top scorer Tawanda Maswanhise is reportedly liked by O’Neill, but Anderlecht appear to be his strongest suitors.
Celtic have also enquired about Elliot Watt, but Turkish side Samsunspor are actively making offers for the midfielder.
🚫 He has an unserved ban from last season…

Jens Berthel Askou on Celtic target Calum Ward
Speaking to the Motherwell social channels after Ward’s contract extension last December, then-boss Jens Berthel Askou said:
“Calum has really taken his chance this season and shown fantastic progression since the summer.
“He has all the qualities we are looking for in a goalkeeper, and on top of that, he is extremely passionate about learning and improving under Neil Alexander’s guidance.
“His quality and composure in the build-up have been of massive importance to us, and lately he has had more and more decisive moments denying big chances for the opposition.”
