Celtic managed to bring in a striker on deadline day in the form of Adam Idah, who has joined on a loan deal until the end of the season from Norwich City.

The Republic of Ireland international signalled his intention to hit the ground running upon arrival, stating: “I want to play games, I want to help this team and the aim for me is to win those two trophies and I want to score a lot of goals for this club.”

Brendan Rodgers introduced Idah into first-team action last weekend against Aberdeen and he duly delivered, providing an assist for Nicolas Kuhn to salvage a point at Pittodrie.

Evaluating his performance, the Cork-born forward offered a focal point in attack, winning all of his aerial duels and playing three key passes [Sofascore].

Over the remainder of the campaign, he will be an important contributor for Celtic as they continue their Scottish Premiership title quest.

South Korean forward Hyeongyu Oh will also return to contention after the conclusion of his AFC Asian Cup involvement, providing Rodgers with further depth to support Kyogo Furuhashi.

Celtic made late window contact over Mathias Kvistgaarden

Brondy attacker Mathias Kvistgaarden continues to be mentioned in connection with a move to Celtic due to his impressive profile as a modern-day centre-forward.

This campaign, the Denmark Under-21 international has registered seven goals and seven assists in 21 appearances across all competitions [Transfermarkt].

According to Football Scotland, Celtic made a late approach for Kvistgaarden in January and spoke to his club about the possibility of taking the 21-year-old off their hands.

Nevertheless, Brondby made it clear they weren’t keen to sell him in the winter window and negotiations were left there.

The report also suggests that Rodgers’ men may return to the table in the summer amid Idah’s short-term loan agreement not containing an option to buy.

Mathias Kvistgaarden would be an exciting addition for Celtic

It appears Celtic may have to play the long game to land Kvistgaarden; however, his name isn’t going away in media circles any time soon.

As per Fotmob, the Brondby striker has recorded a shot accuracy rate of 53% in the Superliga alongside 17 successful dribbles this campaign.

Come the summer, it will be intriguing to see if Rodgers continues to pursue his signature or whether he will instead look to prolong Idah’s stay at Parkhead.

Either way, the Birkerod-born man would be an exciting addition in Glasgow and prolonged interest in his services is a sign that Celtic are looking in the right direction regarding their next prodigious talent.
