As the end of the transfer window approaches, interest in Celtic’s players is really hotting up this week.
As news broke yesterday that Man City are showing interest in Kyogo Furuhashi, the Celtic fans are now having to deal with potentially losing two of their top players should Brighton manage to get a deal for Matt O’Riley finalised.
Both these players were crucial in helping Celtic win a treble in Ange Postecoglou’s final season at the club and as the Celtic fans watch on nervously, the club has had to reject further approaches for another treble-winning player.
Celtic reject interest for Cameron Carter-Vickers
Cameron Carter-Vickers has been a major reason why Celtic have been so successful over the last three seasons.
The US defender was initially brought to the club on loan in 2021 and after helping wrestle the title back from Rangers, Carter-Vickers was signed on permanently.
Since that permanent move, the Celtic defender has won five trophies out of six and now, the club have had to reject the advances of three European clubs for his services this week.
According to a report in the Daily Express, Atalanta, Besiktas and Galatasaray have all had approaches for Carter-Vickers ‘shut down’ by Celtic:
The summer interest in Carter-Vickers
Celtic are ‘not open’ to selling their best defender this summer and clearly see him as an integral part of Brendan Rodgers’ team.

Indeed, this isn’t the first time Besiktas have shown interest in Carter-Vickers. We discussed back in June how the Turkish club were interested in the Celtic defender and now, it seems, they have taken that interest one step further.
West Ham and Ipswich Town have also been admirers of the big defender but, as yet, those rumours have gone quiet.
The positive the Celtic fans can take from all of this is that Carter-Vickers is said to be happy at Celtic and not looking to move anytime soon.
As long as that remains the case and Rodgers still wants him, it looks like the big American is going nowhere this summer.
