There is no greater pressure in Scotland than playing for Celtic.
Even with Celtic lifting trophy after trophy over the years, the heat in the kitchen just gets more difficult to deal with.
That’s proving to be the case for the 2025/26 Premiership season because of how the summer transfer window has panned out, as there is more pressure on certain Celtic players than others.
One of the names proving to be a talking point is Adam Idah, and he didn’t exactly answer his critics as Celtic beat St Mirren on Flag Day.

Pressure on Adam Idah at Celtic
The positive for Idah is that Brendan Rodgers gave him the nod and started him for the opening game of the new season.
But former midfielder Scott Allan, speaking on BBC Radio Scotland, is unsure and questions whether he will be at the club at the end of play on September 1.
Allan explained how Celtic will ‘spend a considerable amount of money’ on a new striker if Idah doesn’t prove his worth in the coming weeks.
“I think it’s a big four weeks for Idah until the window closes,” said Allan. “I think he has four weeks to show. Is he ready to be the number one striker for Celtic?
“If not, then I think you will see someone coming in that position. I think you will see them spend a considerable amount of money on that position as well in the next four weeks, if he doesn’t get off to the start that he was expected to.”
How Idah rated as Celtic beat St Mirren
The fact of the matter is, Idah didn’t score, and unfortunately for him, that’s all that matters, and that’s all he is going to be judged by.
There was a great chance the Republic of Ireland star had in the second half when his effort hit the woodwork when he brought the ball down brilliantly.
WhoScored wasn’t exactly complimentary towards his performance, and he needs that to change, as soon as possible.
