Kasper Hogh had quite a January.

The Danish striker’s winter started with him being linked to Norwich City, but by the end of the month, Celtic and many others had entered the race.

This was thanks to his exceptional form in the Champions League, which helped Bodo/Glimt into the knockout stages of the competition for the first time in their history.

They faced a tough draw against last season’s finalists, Inter Milan, but Hogh has shown that his League Phase form was no fluke with a goal and two assists in a 3-1 win.

Kjetil Knutsen’s side now go to the San Siro with a serious chance of causing their biggest shock yet.

Sondre Fet put Bodo ahead after 20 minutes, having been set up by an excellent backheel by Hogh.

Francesco Pio Esposito equalised for the Nerrazuri, but former AC Milan winger Jens Peter Hauge (who scored against Celtic during his Milan days) put Bodo back ahead after the break, having also been assisted by Hogh.

Having twice been provider, Hogh got himself on the scoresheet for his side’s third, rounding off a fantastic move which left him with a tap-in.

He was named UEFA’s Player of the Match after scoring in a third straight Champions League giant-killing, after January wins over Man City and Atletico Madrid.

Celtic’s interest in Hogh coincided with his rapid increase in profile, which also led to an increase in his asking price.

Bodo put a £10 million price tag on the 25-year-old on Deadline Day, with the Hoops turning their attentions to signing Junior Adamu.

Hogh joined the club two years ago from fellow Norwegian side Stabaek, commanding a fee of £580,000.

As for Bodo, their sensational run marks the highest point yet of the Knutsen era. They have come a long way since beating Celtic in the Conference League in 2022.

Speaking to the Market Madness podcast last month, Frode Thomassen addressed the interest in the forward.

He said: “We don’t have to sell anyone, but if the offer is good and the player would like to go, of course we will judge it and see.

“I think Kasper enjoys playing in Bodo, but we will see.

“Our focus right now is on [Atletico] Madrid. We never comment on links. We won’t focus on the day tomorrow.

“There are two big ways in football to earn money. One of them is performance on the pitch and one is to sell players.

“For us it has been important to focus on the performance part and having a strong team. Our main goal has not been to develop players to sell them.
