Lennon Miller has been a talking point for many months now.
Celtic have shown interest in Miller, who, as of this moment, is still a Motherwell player, but he has a lot of teams circling for his signature, including teams in Italy.
This stems from the 18-year-old’s breakthrough campaign last time out, as well as earning his maiden Scotland cap in June.
But the new Premiership season is here, with Motherwell facing Rangers for their opening match on Saturday, and Miller isn’t expected to feature with the 2025 summer transfer window still wide open.

Celtic transfer target Lennon Miller ‘won’t play for Motherwell again’
It seems to be widely accepted that Miller will leave Fir Park, and you think this is Celtic’s chance to pounce and lure him to the champions of Scotland.
Sitting alongside Motherwell midfielder Andy Halliday on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, journalist Roger Hannah stated that Miller ‘won’t play’ for his club again, and ‘they will want to get a deal done.’
It’s just a case of what will be the teenager’s next destination?
“I don’t think you will see Lennon playing for your club again,” stated Hannah. “Sorry to disappoint you, boys.
“Lennon Miller’s value to Motherwell supersedes his value for a game or two on the pitch. We have mentioned Jota’s name on this show a couple of times. I don’t think Motherwell could risk putting Lennon Miller out there.
“He got a bang in a pre-season game against Carlisle, I think. That’s a heart-in-mouth moment there. There is so much money involved in Lennon Miller’s future for Motherwell that they will want to get a deal done.”
Andy Halliday’s transfer insight on Miller
It also needs to be noted that Miller has 12 months left on his contract, and whilst Celtic are financially powerful when it comes to Scottish teams, for a team like Motherwell, they can’t afford to take any risks with their player, given the money he is likely to bring in.
Halliday would have been training with Miller all of pre-season, and he shared that they have been preparing for life without their star midfielder.
“Not any more than what has been reported,” responded Halliday on Miller’s future.
“I would be lying if I came on here and said that you weren’t already preparing for life without Lennon Miller, knowing the amount of interest that is going to be shown in him this summer.
“He is also in his last year at Motherwell, so I don’t really think it suits any party, where you can get a club-record fee for him.
“I think there has been plenty of interest. Not as much, in terms of concrete offers. I think, by all accounts, that has ramped up in the last week or so.
“But hopefully, whilst he is still here, we can still use him for as long as we possibly can, and enjoy him whilst he is here. Everyone, in terms of us as players, we have been preparing for life after Lennon.”
