Celtic fans set on signing Kieron Bowie

Celtic’s search for a striker seems to have intensified over the last few days as they look to address the biggest weakness in their side.

Interest has been revived in David Datro Fofana after a failed attempt in the summer transfer window, while other names like Callum Wilson and Andrej Ilic have also been mentioned.

Kieron Bowie is the one that 67 Hail Hail fans want though. We asked on TalkingPoints if you would sign him, and everyone said yes and went as far to say that he is a 20-goal a season striker.

Celtic join European clubs in race to sign Franko Kovacevic

There are not many strikers more prolific than Franko Kovacevic right now.

Only a handful of players have scored more goals than him across all competitions in the 2025/26 season.

Kovacevic is being watched by Celtic after bagging 25 in his first 28 games for Slovenian side Celje since his move last summer.

Ferencvaros and Levski Sofia are two of the other teams credited with interest, but maybe the allure of playing in front of 60,000 at Celtic Park will be enough to sway him?

Stefan Ortega may be on the move elsewhere in Europe

Although it is not a priority for Celtic right now, conversations have been had about the goalkeeping position.

Kasper Schmeichel has faced criticism from all angles after a string of disappointing performances.

His contract is up at the end of the season and the 39-year-old looks unlikely to commit his future to the football club.

Other targets have been looked at, including Manchester City’s Stefan Ortega who is now third choice at the Premier League club.

The German has been tracked by Celtic before but they aren’t the only ones. New reports have revealed that Genoa are making an attempt to sign Ortega too.

As an older goalkeeper, he would also be a short-term option, but maybe the right one too?
