French Ligue 2 side Bordeaux are reportedly the latest club to approach Celtic with transfer interest in striker Giorgos Giakoumakis.
The 28-year-old has been littered with clubs from across the globe, aiming to make their move and secure his services in the January window.
The two front runners in the chase appear to be Serie A side Sampdoria and J-League team Urawa Red Diamonds, with transfer talks continuing this week.

However, with no deal over the line just yet, there is still room for new parties to be introduced to the chase and make an offer for the in-demand striker.
According to reports from French outlet L’Équipe, Bordeaux are the latest team to approach Celtic, with interest in Giakoumakis.
The recently relegated side are looking to fire themselves back into Ligue 1 at the first time of asking and currently sits 2nd place in the second division.
As they aim to add more firepower to their frontline, Giorgos Giakoumakis is seen as one of the options who could do exactly that.
L’Équipe reports that Bordeaux have submitted an offer of between €2.5 and €3 million to the Scottish Champions, with the view of signing Giakoumakis.
Insufficient Bordeaux offer isn’t likely to get them to the table with Celtic as Bhoys eye up Giakoumakis profit.

Although Bordeaux may see Giakoumakis as one of the options that could add firepower to their squad, the French side are going to have to do a lot better with their transfer offer.
As reported earlier this week, the Bhoys are aiming to hold out for significant transfer profit, with Giakoumakis’ current transfer valuation being as high as £8 million.
Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds appear the most keen to pay the high fee for the Celtic striker this winter, which would see the Hoops land three times the amount they paid for the Greek frontman.
Giakoumakis’ Celtic exit may seem inevitable at this stage, given the breakdown in contract negotiations in recent months.
However, the club are still aware of the value in our number seven, who is still on a long-term contract until 2026.
So, if Bordeaux are seriously interested in joining the clubs who are leading the chase for Giakoumakis, they are going to need to up their offer.
The exit talk for the Greek international certainly seems to be intensifying. So it will be interesting to see where this one goes in the coming days.
