Mateusz Bogusz was close to joining Celtic in 2024 before the Hoops opted to look elsewhere.

The Polish midfielder was hot on Celtic’s radar but in the end, they broke their transfer record to sign Arne Engels.

In the meantime, Bogusz continued to thrive with LAFC before swapping the MLS for Mexico to join Cruz Azul.

Reports have said that Bogusz could be available for transfer in January, and it seems that the 24-year-old has his heart set on leaving.

Mateusz Bogusz storms down tunnel after Cruz Azul game

After shining for LAFC, things haven’t gone to plan in Mexico with Cruz Azul, scoring three goals since his arrival.

Bogusz has also been an unused substitute in the last three games but things took a turn after his side’s defeat to Tigres.

While all his teammates went to applaud the travelling support, the 24-year-old allegedly headed straight down the tunnel in frustration.

No asking price has been revealed for the midfielder but a move away seems destined.

Will Wilfried Nancy dip into the transfer market?

Wilfried Nancy has realised how big the task is at Celtic after losing his first game as the new manager.

Nancy chose to go with his 3-4-3 formation, despite the squad clearly lacking any natural wing-backs.

The team are in need of a revamp, but the Frenchman said that any decisions on recruitment would wait until he has fully analysed the side.

He said: “Each window as a coach is really important. To bring in players within the season is not the same as when you bring in players before the season starts.

“We will assess the players first then decide the positions we need. This is what we are looking for already. We’ll see.”
