Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph has provided the latest update on Celtic’s pursuit of Marcelo Saracchi, with the Hoops now reported to be working on a permanent deal for the Boca Juniors left-back.
The Argentine club are willing to sell Saracchi with a price of £2.2m said to be enough for Boca to sanction a transfer.

Joseph took to social media last night and posted an update on Celtic now looking to pursue Saracchi this season.
The Sky Sports man said on X, “Celtic are working on deal to sign Boca Juniors left-back Marcelo Saracchi on a permanent deal.
“The Uruguayan spent last season on loan with the Scottish champions, but there was no buy-option included in the deal.
“Boca are believed to be open to selling Saracchi this summer.”
Saracchi is the most obvious piece of transfer business for Celtic
If Celtic fans were asked which player the club should definitely sign this season, almost every single one of them would say Saracchi.
The Uruguayan became a firm fans’ favourite during his loan spell and produced one of his biggest moments when Celtic beat Hearts to seal the Premiership title on the final day.
At just over £2m, the capture of Saracchi is a no-brainer and offers a quality back-up solution for Kieran Tierney.
The excuses are disappearing quickly. Boca Juniors are prepared to sell, Saracchi wants the move and Celtic are now working on a deal. From here, supporters will expect the club to finish the job.
