Nicolas Kuhn returned to Celtic for pre-season training last week amid swirling transfer rumours about his future.

Kuhn has been linked with a return to RB Leipzig, but it’s Italian side Como 1907 who have the winger high on their summer shortlist.

Como want to sign two wingers this summer, and have already finalised the signing of Jesus Rodriguez from Real Betis for a reported €22.5m in recent days.

Now, it’s between Kuhn and AZ Alkmaar’s Jayden Addai. And we told you on Tuesday that Addai is closer to signing for Como than his German counterpart.

Well, there’s been a big development regarding Como’s push to sign Addai, as reported by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Como set to sign Jayden Addai from AZ Alkmaar

Romano is reporting that Addai has completed his medical with Como and he’s now on the verge of signing for Cesc Fabregas’ team.

It is said that a €14m fee has been agreed between Como and AZ Alkmaar for Addai, who is being seen as a future prospect for the ambitious Italian outfit.

So what does that mean for Kuhn? It may signal the end of Como’s pursuit of the Celtic star for now, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it is the end.

Gianluca Di Marzio’s latest Nicolas Kuhn update

Di Marzio has posted a fresh update on his official website explaining that Como will make one last attempt to reach an agreement with Celtic over Kuhn.

However, now that Romano has effectively confirmed Addai’s switch to Serie A, it means Como and Celtic have likely stalled with regards to negotiations.

In that instance, Di Marzio claims Como could keep Kuhn on their transfer shortlist and perhaps try again later in the summer window.

The Italian reporter wrote: “Como will make one last attempt for Celtic’s Kuhn: if the situation doesn’t resolve itself, the Lombards will go for Addai.

“Como’s market is becoming more and more ambitious. Baturina has been made official and while waiting to close deals like Morata and others, Fabregas’ team is preparing to welcome a new attacking winger.

“The hottest names are those of Kuhn from Celtic and Addai from AZ: this morning a last attempt will be made for the former, and if the deal doesn’t work out, the Lombards will close for Addai, who is expected in Italy in these hours to visit the city and the club’s facilities before the final OK.

“Should this hypothesis occur, however, it would not be a total black smoke for Kuhn: Como could try again later in the transfer market if the German were to represent an opportunity.”
