Jamie Vardy was a long list of strikers on Celtic’s transfer radar in the summer.
Given the mess the Celtic board were making of trying to replace Kyogo Furuhashi, and in truth, they still haven’t properly replaced the Japan star.
It seemed as though every striker who has had any sort of connection with Brendan Rodgers was being linked to the champions of Scotland.
Vardy, following his stellar and record-breaking career at Leicester City, was set to leave the English side, but despite those Celtic rumours, he moved to Italy and joined newly-promoted Cremonese, so how has he got on?

How has Jamie Vardy got on at Cremonese?
It was a slow burner for Vardy, who wasn’t ready to make his debut until September, and he had to wait until the middle of October for his first start.
Injuries played their part in that, as Cremonese, who earned promotion to Serie A via the playoffs, made a strong start to the campaign.
Atalanta and Juventus are in the Champions League this season, and it just had to be Vardy that his two goals have come against those sides.
But despite a positive start, life is starting to hit rocky waters for Vardy and his Cremonese team, who have now lost three league games on the bounce, including against Celtic’s soon-to-be Europa League opponents, AS Roma, on Sunday.
Vardy’s season in numbers
At the age of 38, it was wise for Celtic not to sign Vardy, as it would have just been a short-term option without any real impact.
Yes, the 26-cap England star has had a stellar career, but that was many years ago now, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Cremonese is his final bow in football.
