The summer transfer window hasn’t officially opened yet, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t any noise around Celtic.
For months, fans have been speculating about what type of players Brendan Rodgers is going to bring in for next season, including who could possibly leave the champions of Scotland.
Just like when Matt O’Riley was sold to Brighton last summer, when that big pot of cash is put on the table, then Celtic have no choice but to sell because of the enormous financial difference.
The Hoops are going to be tested this summer, especially given the improvement in the Champions League, and how that elevated certain players’ status.
Added to that, Celtic won yet another double, and the domination on the domestic stage shows no sign of stopping.
One player who has been at the heart of Celtic’s success over the years is midfielder, Reo Hatate, but where will he be playing his football next season?

Celtic would sell Reo Hatate for ‘£10 million’
Hatate is currently injured, and it resulted in him missing the final few games of the season, including the Scottish Cup final defeat to Aberdeen.
Even though the 27-year-old is a key member of Rodgers’ XI, Peter Grant feels that Hatate would be sold for as little as ‘£10 million’ if that money is put on the table, as he told Go Radio.
Grant highlighted the midfield maestro’s age as one of the reasons behind why he would be moved on for a transfer fee that wouldn’t go down well with the Celtic Park faithful.
“If Celtic get £10 million for Reo Hatate, then they would sell him,” said Grant. “I don’t mean that disrespectfully, because they will look at it and think, 27-28 years of age.
“They will think, ‘okay, that’s good money at that age’. That’s just not Celtic. I think that’s good value, in the respect of that. I think Brendan is very much aware of that.
“They know the areas they want. 100%, they know exactly what they want, at this moment in time. Even before the cup final.”
Hatate’s Celtic career in numbers
On his day, not many players are better to watch than Hatate, and he has proved that over the years for Scotland’s most successful club.
Signed under the stewardship of Ange Postecoglou during the January transfer window of 2022, Hatate has proven to be a huge success and one of the club’s best players in the modern era.
Sometimes, Hatate’s numbers don’t give him justice, but that’s eight trophies to his name during his time at Celtic.
| Club | Games | Goals | Assists | Trophies |
