On one hand, the opening of the summer transfer window is a good thing for Celtic fans. On the other, it can be a nervy couple of months.
Celtic, despite missing out on a domestic Treble, were fantastic last season as they secured the Scottish Premiership and Premier Sports Cup double.
And it means many of the campaign’s star players will be under watch over the next weeks and months due to their outstanding performances.
Celtic’s Player of the Year Daizen Maeda will be one of those after a season where he netted 33 goals in over 50 games in all competitions.
Maeda has been linked with Fenerbahce, with a meeting said to have been scheduled between his representatives, Celtic officials and the Turkish giants.
How credible that information is remains to be unearthed, but Maeda has spoken in recent days about his aims for next season, whether he is at Celtic or not.

Maeda speaks about aims for ‘next season’
On 31 May, Maeda was a guest of honour at his former club Mito HollyHock for their Japanese second division clash with Nagasaki.
And he was questioned by fans over his incredible 2024/25 performance and what the future holds for the 27-year-old speed demon.
As per freelance journalist Mark Walker, Maeda said: “I was in great form this season, both personally and so were the team. So I’d like to keep it going next season.
“I am who I am because of my team, Celtic. I’d like to thank my teammates and, above all, my family for supporting me so far.
“I’d be happy if I could score more goals next season. I hope the number of goals will continue to increase.”

Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce want Maeda
It was reported last week that Fenerbahce are not only interested in Maeda, but they were set to meet with the player’s agent and Celtic officials.
At said meeting, whether it has occurred or not, it was claimed Fenerbahce were ready to lodge an offer of over €10m for Maeda.
Celtic fans were understandably left peeved by the figure in question, with many stating a far higher fee will be required to prise Maeda away from Glasgow.
Hoops fans are desperate to see Maeda sign a new contract at the club, despite him having another two years to run on his deal.
