Celtic appear to be in the market for another striker as Brendan Rodgers looks to accelerate the Hoops’ summer plans.
Benjamin Nygren is on the verge of joining Celtic and could be joined by Shin Yamada.
Yamada was watched by Celtic as the 25-year-old continues to excel after winning the Japanese Cup in 2023 and Japanese Super Cup in 2024.
Kawasaki Frontale fans have given Yamada a glowing recommendation and now the forward has spoken about the rumours himself.

Shin Yamada focused on Kawasaki Frontale season instead of Celtic rumours
The Japanese market has been one that has brought plenty of success for Celtic in recent years.
Reo Hatate was also signed from Frontale and has been one of the Scottish Premiership’s best players for several years but while Yamada could have the chance to reunite, the forward isn’t listening to the outside noise and has insisted that his full focus is on his current club.
He told Japanese outlet Sponichi: “Right now I want to do my best in the next game.”
Where would Shin Yamada fit into the Celtic side?
There are doubts about Yamada joining Celtic due to the sheer volume of strikers at the club if Rodgers lands all of his targets.
As well as Adam Idah and Johnny Kenny, the additions of Nygren and eventually Callum Osmand too would mean that there are four players in that position already.
While it would bring strength in depth to the side, it would also mean that one player will almost certainly play next to no games all season long.
Kenny and Osmand would be the two primary candidates but as the former proved towards the end of last season, he is certainly up to the task.
