‘I’d drive him’ – Celtic fans react to possible £3m transfer deadline day deal

The clock is ticking before the 2025 summer transfer window slams shut.

The Celtic fans have already been frustrated and angry at the lack of action by the powers that be, especially with the incomings.

This causes issues both ways because Celtic have already sold Nicolas Kuhn, without bringing in a replacement, never mind Kyogo Furuhashi’s departure during the winter transfer window.

And now Hyunjun Yang has had to stay put, even though it’s clear that he isn’t good enough for Brendan Rodgers’ side, despite interest in his services.

But a move to Birmingham City could be on the cards before the window slams shut.

Whilst the Scottish transfer window slams shut at 11 pm on September 1, the deadline for England is at 7 pm.

It has been suggested by Sky Sports that Yang has ‘travelled to England’, and the deal could possibly land Celtic ‘£3 million.’

It’s fair to say that the Celtic Park faithful are amazed that they might be about to get that type of fee for a player who just hasn’t got going in Scotland.

@KRBhoy with a sarcastic response: ‘So if Celtic still need to sanction the move, why is he on his way down?’

@annemarie6377 would happily drive Yang down the M6: ‘That’s not fair, I said I’d drive him.’

Another Celtic fan questioning why Yang is allowed to travel, as @G__S__7 added: ‘How can he travel if we are yet to sanction it?’

@hfryF74872 described Celtic amid the Yang news: ‘Celtic are so unorganised.’

@thomasg02908855 laughed at the price tag: ‘3 million 😂😂’

@max34015843 apologised to Birmingham fans: ‘On behalf of all Celtic fans, I sincerely apologise to everyone connected to Birmingham FC.’

Another Celtic fan stunned by what Birmingham for Yang, as @EdBhoy1888 added: ‘They’ve paid what?!? £3M.’

Another humorous reaction to Yang joining Kyogo at Birmingham, as @kaiser7ko shared: ‘Kyogo showing up to training tomorrow to see Yang…’

@CelticAnalytico with an interesting take: ‘Incredibly, we could get £10 million for Yang and Idah. And it may not happen because we can’t get bodies in the door.’

@news_donegal compared it to the Idah-Swansea situation: ‘A player should only be allowed to go for a medical if you’ve another on the way in …possibly do but if it’s the same as idah it’s not a good look covered by @chris_sutton73 yesterday on TV.’

Yang’s numbers for Celtic

This isn’t good reading, and the player can’t argue that he hasn’t been provided with chance after chance to prove his worth, and that for a successful side.

Kuhn struggled in his first six months, before going on to do a madness, but despite being at the club far longer, it has been a struggle for Yang.
