The January transfer window is proving to be very frustrating for Celtic.

There is some time to play with, but Celtic have only signed one player so far, and that’s a loan deal for Julian Araujo, and he was brought in to play under Wilfried Nancy.

The main topic of discussion is Celtic needing a striker, and many names have been touted to join the champions of Scotland.

But over the weekend, one of those transfer targets, Callum Wilson, showed just what he is made of in a crucial London derby against Tottenham, and it got Jack Grealish’s seal of approval.

Jack Grealish hails Celtic transfer target Callum Wilson

It seems as though Celtic won’t be signing Wilson this month, as even Martin O’Neill deemed it unlikely, and you can further decrease those chances following the player’s winner against Spurs.

On Saturday, Wilson came off the bench to score a stoppage-time winner to help the Hammers beat under-fire Thomas Frank’s side, and keep up their hopes of fighting off relegation.

When Wilson reacted on Instagram to his heroics, Grealish labelled his England teammate as a ‘certified bagsman’ in the comments section.

That proven goalscorer is exactly what Celtic need right now, but it seems as though you can chalk another striker name off the list.

‘Certified bagsman,’ wrote Grealish.

Wilson closing in on the Premier League 100 club…

That’s Wilson’s fifth goal in 12 Premier League matches, and remember, he has only started eight of those games, and he is yet to complete 90 minutes this season.

On top of that, the 33-year-old has also scored 93 Premier League goals in his career, and he is closing in on reaching the 100 club.

Some Celtic fans were questioning whether they should sign Wilson, given his age and injury status, but here he is proving that there are plenty of goals left in his tank.
