Motherwell boss Jens Berthel Askou has directly responded to the rumours of Tawanda Maswanhise.
Celtic have reportedly made contact with Maswanhise in a bid to sign the Scottish Premiership’s top scorer.
Frank McAvennie has encouraged the Hoops to sign the Motherwell star but if Askou’s most recent comments are anything to go by, that deal may be more difficult to complete than they imagined.

Is Tawanda Maswanhise good enough for Celtic? Let is know in the comments.
Tawanda Maswanhise not for sale, according to Motherwell
Askou has turned the Steelmen into one of the surprise sides this season, and they look well on course to secure themselves a top six finish.
Their performances have attracted the interest of several clubs, most notably Maswanhise, but the Motherwell boss has said that nobody will be leaving.
He said: “We are not in negotiations with anyone regarding any of our top players and we are not selling any of our top players this window.
“It is very late and we want them to stay this season and then we will see in the summer.
“We want to build a stronger squad than what we have right now and sharpen up a few things. That plan doesn’t include selling our best players.”
Change my mind…
Should Celtic wait until the summer to sign Maswanhise?
Although the Zimbabwe international has been the star player in the Scottish top flight this season, there has to be an element of caution over the Leicester City youngster.
This has been a real breakthrough campaign after seeing flashes of him in the 2024/25 season.
Every player has a price and if the Hoops were to pursue him in January, an inflated asking price would almost certainly be demanded at this stage.
He won’t come cheaply in the summer, but giving him a whole season to play in Scotland and really prove his worth may be the better option.
