Lennon Miller dubbed ‘perfect’ for Brendan Rodgers, but Celtic told who could leave if he joins

Lennon Miller has been the talk of the town as Celtic could snap up the Motherwell star in the summer.

For several transfer windows now, Miller has been linked with Celtic, but as of yet, he is still donning the Motherwell colours at Fir Park.

Aside from a recent injury he’s returned from, the rising midfielder has had another strong season in the Premiership.

That has caught the eye of many teams, including Celtic, and it seems as though something could move this summer.

Miller will have 12 months left to run on his Motherwell deal in June, so it’s a case of signing a new contract or moving on, and from the club’s case, getting a fee.

It seems like it will be the latter, and if he does move to Celtic Park, then Brendan Rodgers has been told about the player who could head in the other direction.

Reo Hatate has unreal talent in his boots and is a regular starter, alongside captain Callum McGregor and club-record transfer, Arne Engels.

Ross McComrack explained that he can’t see a player like Engels leaving because he just joined and the skipper is the ‘mainstay’ of the side.

So, the former striker feels that Hatate could be the one to leave, as he ‘wouldn’t be surprised’ if Miller joins and how he would be ‘perfect’ for Rodgers, as he told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard.

“I don’t think Lennon Miller will be going anywhere to be seen as a future project,” said McCormack. “Lennon Miller, for me, if he goes to Celtic, he plays.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he did go to Celtic this summer, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Celtic let someone like Hatate go.

“I don’t think Engels will go. They paid a lot of money for him. Callum McGregor is the mainstay. You have Bernardo and McCowan. McCowan has just come. He’s good. If you need to throw him in and get a tune out of him.

“But I wouldn’t be surprised to see Lennon Miller go to Celtic in the summer. I think Brendan Rodgers as well, the way he thinks about football and the way he coaches. He will be absolutely perfect for Lennon Miller.”

Miller vs Hatate in the Premiership this season

Ideally, Celtic fans would love to keep Hatate and also sign Miller, but if the money is put on the table for the Japan star, then you can see the powers that be accepting.

Plus, it’s always good to refresh when you are on top and Celtic are certainly on top right now.

Luke McCowan has shown how you can come from a so-called lesser side and still thrive because he has been brilliant since his summer move from Dundee.

And there is no reason why Miller can’t thrive at Celtic because he has everything in his locker to do so.
