Lennon Miller warned his career could turn out like former Celtic star if he makes Parkhead move

Lennon Miller will almost certainly be moving on from Motherwell this summer.

Celtic are huge admirers of Miller and are plotting a move for the young star in the summer as Brendan Rodgers looks to revamp and refresh his squad.

It’s no surprise to see that the 18-year-old is a man in-demand and has been linked with the Bhoys, as well as the Glasgow neighbours Rangers.

Miller was given a standing ovation by Motherwell fans in what could be his last game in front of supporters, however, he’s been warned against making a potential move to Parkhead.

Lennon Miller told he could end up like David Turnbull

Should Miller join Celtic he would be walking in the same footsteps as David Turnbull, who also made the move from Fir Park to Celtic Park.

Turnbull was hit-and-miss during his time with the Bhoys, with injuries plaguing his time at the club.

He was also highly rated and whilst Miller may tread down a different path, Graeme McGarry has told the midfielder to reconsider a move to either one of Celtic and Rangers.

Writing in The Herald, McGarry cited Turnbull’s time at Celtic, saying: “I don’t much fancy seeing Lennon Miller curl a rasper into the top corner at Fir Park for either side of the Old Firm, a la David Turnbull, next season, but when he does inevitably leave Motherwell this summer, I hope he broadens his horizons beyond these shores.

“Miller is a different type of player and is his own man, but a move to Celtic could pose similar issues to the ones Turnbull faced. Firstly, the age-old issue of actually getting a game.

Where would Lennon Miller fit into the Celtic side?

Rodgers certainly isn’t short of midfield options so it’s understandable to wonder where Miller will play and how often he would feature.

Reo Hatate could be on the way out in the summer amid plenty of links whilst Paulo Bernardo and Luke McCowan have been capable back-ups for Callum McGregor and Arne Engels.

Both of those will want Hatate’s starting spot if he is to leave and should Miller join, there would be a bedding in period but the SFA’s Young Player of the Year would be casting his eyes on it too.
