Marco Tilio’s future appears to have been decided as his two-year loan spell at Melbourne City comes to an end.
Tilio featured in the A-League Grand Final victory as Melbourne City beat their local rivals Melbourne Victory to be crowned champions of Australia.
Celtic fans were underwhelmed by Tilio’s performance and weren’t convinced by the prospect of him returning to Celtic Park this summer.
It seems that Tilio thinks his Celtic future is uncertain too and one Melbourne City chief has confirmed what they plan to do with the winger.

Melbourne City in negotiations to extend Marco Tilio stay
You’d be forgiven for thinking that Tilio has never been on Celtic’s books.
The winger has only made two appearances in the green and white but has been solid back in his homeland, registering five goals in 19 appearances.
Now that his loan has come to an end, the 23-year-old was expected to return to Glasgow, but it seems he could remain in Australia after Melbourne City director of football Michael Petrillo confirmed they were in talks with the Hoops.

Speaking on the Football Fever podcast, he said: “We’re still negotiating whether he stays another year or goes to Europe.
“We hope he stays another year.”
Celtic should abandon the Marco Tilio project
It’s been over a year since Tilio played in a Celtic shirt and the 23-year-old is looking even further away from making an impact in Brendan Rodgers’ side once again.
The fact that Rodgers is willing to let him leave again suggests that he isn’t in his plans and at this point, it may be better to part ways permanently.
Melbourne City would evidently like to have him back permanently and it’s almost like he never left.
At this point, it’s better to admit defeat and cut losses on the winger and invest that money elsewhere.
