Marco Tilio is due to return to Celtic when his loan spell at Melbourne City ends at the end of June.
The young Australian has had a difficult time in Glasgow after Tilio admitted he has struggled at Celtic since his big move two summers ago.
Celtic’s record signing from Australia, young Tilio has enjoyed a loan spell in Melbourne City where he helped his temporary club create history by winning the first-ever Melbourne A-League Grand Final Derby.
And now that the celebrations have died down, the Celtic winger has opened up on his Parkhead future.

Marco Tilio admits his Celtic future is ‘up in the air’
Tilio said goodbye to Melbourne City in the best possible way after delivering silverware to the Australian A-League club.
Now ready to return to Celtic, the 23-year-old winger has opened up on where he sees his career at Parkhead going.
Tilio told the Daily Record, “My future is obviously up in the air at the moment, so I’m unsure what is going to happen.
“It’s always been about just playing well. I know when I’m playing well people are always watching.”
Tilio has played just 28 minutes of football in the green and white Hoops. However, with Brendan Rodgers in the market to boost Celtic’s attacking options, has the youngster done enough on loan to convince the Hoops boss that he has a place in his plans?
Marco Tilio’s impressive numbers outside Celtic
Whilst Tilio has struggled at Celtic, away from the Parkhead glare, the Australian has shone.
Here is how Tilio’s spell at Melbourne City has gone:
- Appearances: 107
- Goals: 26
- Assists: 24
- Silverware: 2 x A-League Grand Finals
Those numbers are not bad considering the Celtic winger was low on confidence when he left Glasgow for Melbourne.
With a return to the club on the cards, no doubt Celtic fans and Tilio will find out his fate soon enough.
