Celtic are hoping to be ambitious when the summer transfer window re-opens, especially in their quest to progress in the Champions League.
But, the fact of the matter is, a team like Burnley, who earned promotion to the Premier League on Easter Monday, have more money to spend than Scotland’s most successful club.
Despite Celtic being a far bigger club than Burnley, the champions-elect of Scotland have to swim in a financial lake compared to the ocean of the Premier League for Scott Parker’s side.
That’s what Burnley face in the coming months, after their £100 million+ transfer spend the last time they were in England’s top-flight didn’t pay off.
With that financial power, the Clarets will be looking to, not only sign top talents to keep them in the Premier League, but also extend the stay of their top stars.
One man who has been crucial in Burnley’s promotion was discussed by 67 Hail Hail in November to be on Celtic’s transfer radar.

Celtic transfer target Josh Brownhill earns promotion to the Premier League with Burnley
It was Josh Brownhill who netted a brace as Burnley beat Sheffield United on Easter Monday, to not only confirm their promotion to the Premier League, but also Leeds United’s.
Back in November, 67 Hail Hail revealed that Brownhill has been tentatively spoken of as a possible option for Celtic in the summer.
Brownhill’s current Burnley deal expires at the end of June, so he has already been free to speak to foreign clubs, with suggestions that he has suitors in Italy and Saudi Arabia.
Brownhill’s stats for Burnley this season
At the age of 29, the next contract Brownhill signs is going to be the biggest of his career, so whilst the midfielder was on Celtic’s list, it’s fair to say you can take him off it now.
Not only will Burnley offer him a financial package that the Hoops can’t match, but other parties will also be willing to throw stupid money at the player.
Especially given that Brownhill has just produced the best goalscoring season of his career.
