The transfer window is rumbling towards a deadline later this week and news around Celtic is moving quickly with updates on multiple fronts.

Brendan Rodgers has made it clear he expects reinforcements over the coming days and the club is busy at work to ensure that happens.

Matt O’Riley confirmed his exit to Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday so midfield has become a big priority with advances for Arne Engels and Mateusz Bogosz reported.

Elsewhere, there’s plenty for 67 Hail Hail to round-up with stories popping up only to die quickly, fringe players heading for a departure and reported targets sealing moves elsewhere.

Gustav Isaksen wants Lazio stay despite Celtic enquiry

Impressively, the Gustaz Isaksen managed to appear, sustain and then fizzle out all in the space of a few hours this morning.

Initial reports from Italy suggested that Celtic had spoken to Lazio about the winger, which was later corroborated by Sky Sports.

However, the latest update from the UK broadcaster is that Isaksen is likely to stay where he is in this transfer window despite contact from the Bhoys.

Celtic didn’t follow up their initial talks with an official bid and the 23-year-old wants to fight for his place in Rome.

Celtic accept loan bid for Gustaf Lagerbielke

Sky Sports report that Celtic have accepted a loan offer from Dutch club FC Twente for Gustaf Lagerbielke after they came forward with interest this morning.

Despite interest from Lecce and Heerenven, Twente have won the race to sign him up for the season with the player arriving in the Netherlands for a medical.

Lagerbielke has barely featured under Brendan Rodgers, making just ten appearances since the manager returned, so it makes sense for him to get out and play.

With Yuki Kobayashi also sealing an exit to Portimonense in Portugal, are Celtic making space for a new defensive signing? That’ll be the hope for many fans.

Hannibal Mejbri isn’t coming to Celtic

The Celtic links to Manchester United talent Hannibal Mejbri [Mosaique FM] were always a little confusing and never seemed that credible. Thankfully it’s a name we can put to rest for good.

He won’t be joining the Bhoys this summer with Sky Sports reporting that Burnley have agreed a permanent deal with the Old Trafford club and that he’s undergoing a medical.

Brendan Rodgers is pursuing other midfield targets right now regardless and hopefully we see some exciting options in the door before the end of the week.
