So far it’s been a productive transfer window for Celtic.
Three players have signed for Celtic this summer, with the latest of those, Benjamin Nygren, officially unveiled last week.
Kieran Tierney and Ross Doohan have both returned to Celtic Park too and Brendan Rodgers’ squad is shaping up nicely.
But, as the Celtic squad returned to Lennoxtown for pre-season, there is still work to be done and Rodgers now turns his attention to two more positions he wants to recruit in.

Celtic to prioritise midfield in summer recruitment drive
Celtic want to keep ahead of the chasing pack and the Bhoys aren’t slowing down at all.
During a transfer Q and A with Scott Burns of the Daily Record in May 2025, the journalist stated that a winger and two midfielders would be the focus of the summer.
Nygren ticks one of the midfield boxes but a winger and another central midfielder to help provide some depth for Callum McGregor.
He said: “To take things to the next level will take decent money, to bring in the two midfielders and winger that their manager wants in the first instance.”
Michel Ange-Balikwisha could fit the profile for the winger with Balikwisha teasing a move to Celtic several times already.
Central midfield targets may be harder to come by but Burns thinks the club could be preparing a big-money move.
Scott Burns expects Celtic to break transfer record
Arne Engels arrived as Celtic’s record transfer in August 2024 for £11m.
It was a huge fee to part with at the time and although Engels has largely impressed, there is a feeling that he could do more.
However, there is a chance that the Hoops could make a marquee signing again and Burns is tipping Celtic to break the record.
“I think there is every chance that Celtic will break their transfer record,” Burns said.
“Brendan Rodgers wants to move forward and make further progress in the Champions League. Celtic will also want to try and continue their dominance domestically after losing the Scottish Cup Final.”
