That was a transfer window to forget for Celtic.
The only positive to come from all of this is that Celtic are still going strong in the Premiership and the fact that Brendan Rodgers has guided the team to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
However, given the number of outgoings at Parkhead during the January transfer window, the fans expected more than just the two senior players to join.
Jota returned to Celtic and scored on his second debut against Motherwell over the weekend, which was a brilliant sight for all the fans and then Jeffrey Schlupp arrived on deadline day.
The Crystal Palace star has come in to cover at left-back, with Greg Taylor a lone man in that role, but fans can rightfully ask, what about that striker after Kyogo Furuhashi’s exit?
That’s going forward, as Tam McManus feels that Rodgers would have also wanted to enhance the midfield too, as he told PLZ Soccer.
Celtic told Brendan Rodgers would have wanted to sign Lennon Miller
It has been well-documented that Celtic wanted to sign John McGinn in 2018, but the powers that be, at the time, fumbled it and he ended up at Aston Villa.
McGinn played against his boyhood club, as the Villa captain, in the Champions League last week, so it’s amazing how football finds a way.
But McManus thinks the Celtic boss would have wanted to sign Miller from Motherwell to avoid a ‘McGinn fiasco’.
He noted a possible £4million deal, which didn’t happen, and in the end, he stayed put at Motherwell.

“They always leave it until the last minute,” said McManus. “No wonder the Celtic fans are getting tetchy and angry. Domestically they are fine.
“Lennon Miller is an interesting one, for me. He isn’t really a player Celtic need, at the minute. But I think Brendan Rodgers really likes him.
“I think if there are other clubs interested. I think he will definitely be saying to the board that he is one that I want in after the John McGinn fiasco. At 18-years-old, Motherwell will be looking for £4 million plus. You see the potential he has got. I don’t think that’s a massive fee for Celtic. I think he would improve at Celtic – and play in a better team. He’s a player Celtic don’t particularly need. But if Brendan really likes him, then I think he would be anxious to get him in, rather than watch somebody nick him like the John McGinn situation.”
Miller’s season for Motherwell in numbers
Someone like Miller would fit into Celtic, but he isn’t the player the fans would have wanted to sign during the winter transfer window.
Perhaps a deal could be concluded in the summer because there is serious quality there and Luke McCowan, who is much older than the teenager, has made quite the start to life in Glasgow.
WhoScored have rated Miller’s performances at 7.24, including two Man of the Match displays.
