Serie A side Torino are reportedly in contact with Celtic regarding a potential move for Hoops defender Josip Juranovic in the January window.
The defender has attracted plenty of interest since the summer after an impressive first 12 months at Parkhead.
That interest has only ramped up in recent months, thanks to Juranovic’s involvement on the biggest stage for club and country.
Earlier this season, the right-back played six times in the UEFA Champions League for Ange Postecoglou’s side against top European opposition.
And he also helped his nation reach the semi-finals of the World Cup, putting in a man-of-the-match display against Brazil in the quarter-finals.
So plenty of clubs from across the continent have been watching closely, with reports suggesting several Spanish sides were scouting the Celtic man in Qatar.
Celtic are believed to be bracing for bids ahead of the January transfer window as Juranovic’s transfer stock continues to rise.
And it appears the transfer interest in the defender is slowly beginning to ramp up, with reports in Italy suggesting that one Serie A side are already in contact with the Hoops.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, 9th place Torino have held talks with the Bhoys hierarchy as they eye up a quick swoop for the right-back.
First of many clubs begin to make their move for Juranovic.
It comes as no surprise to hear that European clubs are beginning to make their move for the defender, who has highly impressed out in Qatar.
Juranovic has shown how well he can compete at the top level in recent months after his impressive rise since his arrival at Parkhead last summer.
Torino aren’t likely to be the only club that will be in contact with the Bhoys hierarchy regarding a move for the Croatian in the January window.
Celtic are in a good position heading into next month, and any negotiations, with Juranovic tied down to a long-term contract at Parkhead.
So, you would imagine the club is keen to hear from as many interested parties as possible, to drive up the asking price for the in-demand defender.
It should certainly be interesting to see which club’s begin to make their move in the next few weeks.
However, the Serie A side appears to have got the ball rolling, and we are going to be in for a busy few weeks of speculation.
