As we approach the final week of the winter window, the Bhoys look to be closing in on a new striker option. That man is Suwon Samsung Bluewings frontman Oh Hyeon-gyu.

The Hoops were linked with a move for the 21-year-old earlier in the window. However, at that point, the club’s eyes appeared to be on his fellow countryman Cho Gue-sung.

With the Jeonbuk striker dwelling on his future, Celtic have moved on to other targets and are now close to bringing Oh Hyeon-gyu to the club.

According to reports from Sun Sport, the signing is set to be complete within the coming few days as the South Korean international flies into Glasgow.

The report also states that personal terms are already agreed, with the move reportedly costing Celtic around £2.5 million.

Oh, now looks all set to become the Bhoys’ fourth piece of business in the January transfer window, joining Alistair Johnston, Yuki Kobayashi and Tomoki Iwata at the Parkhead.

Celtic look set to announce new signing in coming days as Ange adds new striker.

As Oh Hyeon-gyu closes in on his move to Glasgow, Postecoglou looks all set to finally add a new striker to his Celtic squad.

With Giorgos Giakoumakis’ future at Parkhead currently in the air, adding another frontman was clearly a priority for the former Socceroos boss, and he has now found his man.

At 21 years of age, Oh is not quite the finished article. But, in 2022, he put up some impressive goalscoring numbers, notching 14 goals in all competitions.

He has also already broken into the international set-up, making his debut for his nation in November of last year.

So, the South Korean frontman looks like a player with bags of potential and someone who can develop well under Ange Postecoglou.

Here’s hoping we get confirmation of the move in the coming few days!
