Report: Sead Haksabanovic deal nearing completion as new Celtic recruit arrives in Scotland
Celtic’s move to bring Sead Haksabanovic to the club is reportedly entering the final stages, with the winger arriving in Scotland.
The 23-year-old has been on the hunt for a new club this summer after forcing an exit from Rubin Kazan just one year after signing for the Russian side.
The Bhoys are believed to be long-term admirers of the attacker, and Ange Postecoglou now looks to be edging closer to bringing the Macedonian internationalist to Parkhead.
In the aftermath of Celtic’s 2-0 Scottish Premiership victory over Hearts, the Celtic manager admitted that a move for the winger was ‘getting closer’.
And a deal to bring Haksabanovic to the club has now moved into the final stages, according to a report from the Daily Record.
The former West Ham man is now reportedly in Scotland and has already visited the club’s Lennoxtown training base after a deal was struck with the Russian side.
Haksabanovic would become the Hoops eighth recruit of the summer transfer window, joining Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Daizen Maeda, Alexandro Bernabei, Ben Siegrist, Moritz Jenz and Aaron Mooy.
Ange Postecoglou has been busy preparing his squad for another hectic season as they get set to take to the UEFA Champions League stage.
The Celtic boss has also been able to force some deadwood out of the door, freeing up space within his squad, with the likes of Vasilis Barkas and Ismaila Soro heading out on loan.
Reports late last week have suggested that the Bhoys could be about to pick up the Swedish-born winger for a bargain fee after Rubin Kazan were forced to slash their asking price for the versatile winger.
It now looks all but certain that Haksabanovic will become a Celtic player, adding to Ange Postecoglou’s attacking and midfield options.
Now, the waiting games begin, as supporters anticipate the announcement of our latest summer recruit!
