Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Celtic defender Josip Juranovic’s preferred transfer destination would be the Serie A.

The 27-year-old has been attracting plenty of transfer interest after an impressive first 18 months at Parkhead under Ange Postecoglou.

After arriving from Legia Warsaw, Juranovic went on to earn the first-choice role in the back four and helped Celtic back into the UEFA Champions League.

The defender played all six of the Bhoys’ European outings, which led to him nailing down his position in the Croatian national squad.

Over the last month, Juranovic and his teammates have been on a brilliant run at the World Cup out in Qatar, as they reached the semi-finals of the tournament.

The Celtic man has continued his impressive rise, putting in good displays, including a man-of-the-match performance against Brazil.

Following his eye-catching performances, transfer interest has only continued to rise in Juranovic as clubs from Spain and England began being linked with moves.

In the last few days, Serie A side Torino have entered the fray, with reports suggesting that the Italian side had been the first to open talks with the Hoops.

And there is a chance that Croatian internationals could be interested in that move, as according to transfer guru Gianluca di Marzio, Juranovic’s preferred destination is the Serie A.

Juranovic’s preferred destination revealed as clubs from across Europe eye up a move.

The report states that amidst interest from Torino, Juranovic’s agent (Hussein Algaaod) is working to find a solution in Italian football, with the right-back keen to play in the Serie A.

After showing what he can do at the top level in the Champions League and the World Cup, there is bound to be plenty of choices for Juranovic.

A move to Italy appears to be his preferred option if reports are to be believed. But a better offer may appear further down the line.

There is also a chance that the defender remains at Parkhead, with the January market being a tough window to navigate and reports suggesting talks over a new contract could still take place.

However, as the days go on, it seems more unlikely that we will see the Hoops defender remain at the club past January.

Torino isn’t likely to be the only option Juranovic has in the top flight of Italian football, with several sides potentially in the hunt for an international-level full-back.

Whilst his future may be uncertain at this moment in time, there is one thing that isn’t, and that is Celtic’s position heading into January.

Following the World Cup, the Celtic number 88’s stock is at an all-time high, and currently, he still has another four years on his deal at Parkhead.

So, the Bhoys are in a good position to negotiate, and they should be demanding big money for Juranovic, should that come from Italy or elsewhere.

In other news, Ange Postecoglou will be hoping to rectify Celtic’s recent Pittodrie trend.
