Celtic are reportedly continuing their interest in Hibs’ Miguel Chaiwa ahead of the summer.
That’s despite not having a manager – Shaun Maloney is reportedly the man fronting the recruitment planning, despite also being the assistant manager for a title run-in.
But that’s a conversation for another day – Chaiwa’s name may be familiar from January, when reports first revealed Celtic’s interest in the Hibees midfielder.
The following month, he came to Celtic Park with Hibs and won – so has his performance played a part in this interest?

Hibs’ Miguel Chaiwa performance vs Celtic
Chaiwa played 90 minutes of the game alongside Dan Barlaser and Jamie McGrath in Hibs’ midfield.
Up against that three were Celtic’s Callum McGregor, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Benjamin Nygren.

In a seriously impressive showing, Chaiwa completed four dribbles, more than all of those other midfielders combined.
Only Sebastian Tounekti matched that total. Chaiwa also completed eleven passes into the opposition half and won two fouls.
He competed in the middle of the park too, winning six of his eight ground duels – this was a higher total than Celtic’s three starting midfielders combined.
To top things off, the Zambian international played a part in Hibs’ winning goal, playing a one-two with Felix Passlack.
Chaiwa played at Celtic Park before joining Hibs; he was part of the Young Boys side that Celtic beat in last season’s Champions League.
Might his next appearance at Celtic Park be in a hooped jersey? He certainly enjoys the games.

Miguel Chaiwa on playing at Celtic Park
After the win, Chaiwa told the media: “For me, these games are more like a war, and looking at everything around me, I had to do my job.
“I knew for sure Celtic are a good team, from playing with them last time in the Champions League, so I had to do my best and help the team.
“I would say there are a lot of enjoyable games for me, but most definitely, Celtic too.
“I was really, really happy [with my own performance]. The team staff, they encouraged me to be [my]self, that the most important thing was to enjoy it, feel free, do what you’re capable of doing, and everything will be OK.
“Even after playing that game, you go home and sit down and reflect about it. It also gives you the morale booster that you need, like, OK, I need to continue working extra hard.”
