Adam Idah looked certain to remain at Celtic, until everything changed on Thursday night.

Swansea City made a £7m bid for Idah just days after he missed a penalty in the Champions League defeat against Kairat Almaty.

Despite the widespread reports revealing Swansea’s contact, the club’s head coach Alan Sheehan remained coy on the links to Idah.

In the latest update, however, it seems that progress has been made.

Adam Idah is having a Swansea City medical ahead of £7m transfer

Anthony Joseph has been covering the recent Idah saga closely and in the latest update, the Sky Sports reporter revealed that the 24-year-old is undergoing a medical at Swansea.

Joseph added that Idah has already said goodbye to his Celtic teammates ahead of the £7m transfer, which could be completed within the next 24-48 hours after verbal terms were agreed.

Celtic have moved quickly to find a new striker and have reportedly identified Kasper Dolberg as their ‘number one target’ to replace their outgoing forward.

Has Adam Idah been a success at Celtic?

When Idah joined on loan in January 2024, his arrival was met with a sense of trepidation.

However, the Republic of Ireland international scored a number of important goals, including the winner in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers.

That resulted in a £9m permanent transfer and while the forward scored 20 goals in all competitions during the 2024/25 campaign, there were some whispers about the number of missed chances throughout the season.

The 24-year-old can’t be classed as a failure, but there will be a feeling of ‘what if’ when he makes the move to South Wales.
