BK Hacken have addressed Silas Andersen’s immediate future amid rumours that Celtic wanted to sign the young Danish midfielder.

Celtic and Rangers are both showing interest in Andersen as the young Dane continued to impress visiting scouts during January.

Celtic were told they would have to pay £8.6m to land the defensive midfielder who has six caps for the Denmark U21 side.

And now, BK Hacken sporting director Erik Friberg has addressed the transfer speculation surrounding his young star and it appears that the news is not good for Celtic.

At least for now.

Silas Andersen will ‘stay’ at BK Hacken amid Celtic interest

Celtic do need a ball-winning player in the heart of midfield and Andersen could very well fill that role.

However, it seems the Hoops may have to bide their time as Friberg says Andersen will remain in Denmark.

Friberg told fotbollskanalen, “As it stands now, he is still here and it will close in a few days. We want him to stay here, but we understand that he has been so good in both the Swedish league and in the European game. But as it stands now, he will stay.

“It has been a bit concrete and there is a lot of interest, but there will also be a summer window, where it will probably come up even more. We’ll see. Where we are right now, he will remain.”

BK Hacken ‘taking all year’ about Silas Andersen’s future

It seems that Hacken have been aware of interest all season, and have been openly speaking to Andersen about his future in Denmark.

Friberg continued, “We’ve actually been talking all year about his situation and he won’t play in Häcken for the rest of his career.

“When the right club comes along, we’ll see, but as it stands now, he’s staying with us.

“We value him very highly. For us, it will take something very special to release him in this window.

“In the future it is clear that he wants to continue, but we have had good communication here all the time, but then he is a young guy. He is awesome in every way.

With the transfer window in Scotland closing at 11pm tonight, Celtic fans will be watching and waiting for any additions to the team the club can make.

Unfortunately, it seems that Andersen won’t be a player who is making the move to Paradise.
