Fares Ghedjemis won’t be joining Celtic on transfer deadline day as a familiar story pans out for fans once again.

Ghedjemis was rumoured to be joining Celtic after we told yesterday how talks between Celtic and Frosinone were due to resume in the morning.

However, it appears that those talks are now dead in the water and it’s because a familiar pattern raises its ugly head for Celtic supporters.

Is Fares Ghedjemis worth the £6.5m Celtic appear willing to pay?

Celtic target Fares Ghedjemis in action for Frosinone.

Journalist Orazio Accomando shared on social media Ghedjemis’ transfer intentions and the reason why Celtic’s interest is now over for the French winger.

Celtic’s offer for Fares Ghedjemis ‘well below’ Frosinone valuation

The latest update we shared about Celtic’s pursuit of Fares Ghedjemis was surrounding both clubs struggling to find a way to structure a deal.

Well, it appears the transfer is now dead in the water after Accomando shared a transfer deadline day update on social media.

Accomando said on X, “Frosinone, Ghedjemis set to stay. Celtic’s offer is well below the club’s asking price.”

Why Celtic have dodged a Fares Ghedjemis bullet

At £6.5m, Ghedjemis is nowhere near the calibre of player Celtic requires right now.

With only one season of top-tier football to his name, the French winger has spent much of his time floating around the lower leagues of French and Italian football.

With eight goals and two assists in the Serie B, that return is not from a player who seems like Celtic quality.

And when you look at the type of player Celtic have managed to sign for £6m, like Jota, Ghedjemis is nowhere near that quality.
