Celtic are starting to make some movements in the transfer market.
To many people’s surprise, Mika Baur recently popped up on Celtic’s transfer radar as a potential midfield signing.
Baur helped Paderborn earn promotion to the Bundesliga last season, and now he could be on the move to the champions of Scotland.
The latest transfer reports suggest that a move is well and truly on, including a ‘£4 million’ deal on the table, according to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph.

Mika Baur is ‘keen’ to join Celtic
The one big positive is that the reports suggest that Baur is ‘keen’ on making the switch to Glasgow from Germany.
It has been claimed by Sky journalist Joseph that Celtic ‘opened talks’ for Baur’s services on Monday evening.
Since then, the Hoops and Paderborn have been ‘in negotiations over the past couple of days’, as Martin O’Neill aims to bolster his declining midfield.
What is even more promising for the Celtic Park faithful to hear is that the club are ‘hopeful’ of agreeing to a ‘£4 million’ deal to sign Baur.
But Celtic are yet to reach ‘full agreement’ with Paderborn for their 22-year-old midfield talent.

Midfielders who could leave Celtic this summer
Many people are hoping it won’t be Callum McGregor. Yes, he has recently changed agents, but it would be stupid from Celtic’s perspective to let him go now.
Either way, don’t expect Reo Hatate to be at Celtic for much longer. Just like Daizen Maeda, he has written his legendary chapter, and now it’s time to go.
That’s one of the most obvious ones.
The last time Celtic fished in the Bundesliga market, they signed Arne Engels for a club-record transfer.
Ideally, O’Neill would love to keep hold of the Belgian star, but if big money is put on the table, then he needs to be sold.
There has also been noise around Benjamin Nygren’s future. But once again, it seems as though Engels is more likely to leave than the Sweden international.
