Celtic’s announcement of Kelechi Iheanacho was met with the usual mix of messages to the board and good luck wishes to the player.
Brendan Rodgers was happy to announce the new Celtic striker and he said Iheanacho could become a ‘great signing’ for the club.
With Celtic still requiring more additions before the season resumes in two weeks’ time, Rodgers is now left searching for free agents.
And it appears that a striker who once cost £10m in January 2023 is next on Celtic’s list as Rodgers looks to add another forward to the Hoops’ first-team squad.

Celtic chase former £10m Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis
Stephen McGowan says Celtic are looking to sign Nigerian international striker Emmanuel Dennis.
The 27-year-old was freed by Nottingham Forest last month and it appears that Celtic are looking to make him the 13th signing of the summer.
McGowan writes in The Herald that as well as Celtic looking at Patrick Bamford, the Parkhead club are also believed to be looking at Dennis too.
The striker is still searching for a new club and it appears that Parkhead could be a possible destination.
Emmanuel Dennis’ impressive league title-winning credentials could make him perfect for Celtic
Dennis has experience of winning titles before with Champions League side Club Brugge.
The striker won three titles in Belgium over a four-year spell in 2018, 2020 and 2021.
However, in 116 appearances, Dennis only managed to score 29 goals and provide 13 assists.
Out of his 247 career appearances over seven different clubs, Dennis has scored 52 goals and provided 25 assists.
