Estoril would be open to doing business with Celtic for left-sided star Tiago Araujo in the January transfer window.
However, Portuguese outlet A Bola also reports that no formal approach has yet been made by the Bhoys.
It was reported by The Daily Telegraph earlier this week, and subsequently corroborated by others, that Brendan Rodgers is keen to do a deal for the wide player, who can feature at both left-back and left-wing.
A Bola say the transfer fees discussed, in the region of £4m would be welcomed by Estoril, whose record sale isn’t far off that mark.
It’s also stated that Estoril will try to push the price up as much as possible because 50% of any fee received for the player will be due to Benfica.
Tiago Araujo could provide some much-needed competition at Celtic
Araujo is playing regularly in the Portuguese top flight this season, making 16 appearances in total, scoring two goals and assisting three more.
With Alexandro Bernabei struggling to truly compete with Greg Taylor for the left-back slot, the 22-year-old’s presence would be welcome if he’s been identified by the club as a viable starter.

Some fans even consider that Taylor needs to be replaced as the team’s first-choice left-back after some inconsistency since Rodgers arrived at the club.
The Celtic manager has pledged that quality will arrive in Glasgow over the next two transfer windows.
Whoever is signed will carry an expectation of pushing their way into Rodgers’ first-team plans immediately.
Araujo is still just 22 but carries a strong profile and has over 50 top-flight appearances to his name, so Celtic could be a fine destination to take his career to the next level.
