Time is ticking for Celtic to get their business wrapped up before the end of the transfer window.
Two players have joined Celtic but more are needed if Martin O’Neill is seriously going to challenge for the title.
A right winger seems like the priority and Fares Ghedjemis seemed like the number one candidate.
Frosinone’s manager insisted that Ghedjemis would be staying with the Serie B side after the Hoops lodged a £6.5m bid.
Things need to move quickly to get the move done, and a new update on where Celtic are in negotiations has dropped.
How many Celtic signings are you expecting on Deadline Day?
Celtic unlikely to sign Fares Ghedjemis
It’s looking like it is bad news for Celtic.
According to Anthony Joseph, via Luca Bendoni, talks between the Bhoys and Frosinone have stalled due to the terms of the deal.
While £6.5m was the price, the Hoops couldn’t agree on the structure of the transfer and has left it looking less than likely.
However, there is some positive news as Celtic are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Joel Mvuka, who can also play right wing.
Where do Celtic still need to strengthen after signing Tomas Cvancara and Julian Araujo?
Joel Mvuka knows one Celtic player very well
Mvuka has played a lot of his football in France and Norway and was even a teammate of one current Hoops star.
He and Sebastian Tounekti played together at Bodo/Glimt, as well as on the international stage with Norway at youth level.
Tounekti has since switched nationalities to represent Tunisia but it will make it much easier to transition having someone he knows.
