There is an air of frustration with the Celtic fans as everyone digests the January transfer window.
It was pretty clear that Brendan Rodgers needed a striker after Kyogo Furuhashi decided to join Rennes and left a void in the striker department.
The issue here is that Celtic knew, months before the winter transfer window opening, that a striker was going to be needed because Kyogo had personally asked to leave.
Everyone can debate all they want about his reasonings, but Rodgers came out and publicly shared that, so why wasn’t a striker brought in?
Certain names were doing the rounds, including Danny Ings possibly re-uniting with Rodgers, as he continues to be benched by another manager at West Ham United.
Kelechi Iheanacho was also linked to Celtic, before he secured a deadline-day move to Championship side, Middlesbrough.
But a certain Odsonne Edouard went under the radar.
Odsonne Edouard stuck on-loan at Leicester City
Edouard left Celtic and joined Crystal Palace in 2021, but it’s fair to say that life in the Premier League hasn’t panned out as he would have liked.
The 27-year-old has struggled to find consistency and he was loaned out by Palace in the summer when he joined Leicester City.
But, since his move to the newly promoted Premier League side, he has played less than 200 minutes of football and finds himself stuck and struggling to even make the matchday squad.
The Leicester Mercury reported how the Foxes don’t want a repeat of the Edouard situation because he is hardly playing and how they could only ‘cut short’ his loan spell before the window slammed shut if his parent club decided to sell him.
Celtic fans would have welcomed Edouard back with open arms, especially given that Adam Idah is now the sole ranger up top.

Edouard’s numbers for Celtic compared to the Premier League
The Frenchman was a cool customer at Celtic and played with a relaxed style that made him a joy to watch.
Edouard picked up 11 trophies during his time in Glasgow and scored goals for fun, as his talents, at the time, were ready to test themselves on the Premier League stage.
But things haven’t gone to plan and he has struggled to get near to the heights he used to reach in Scotland.
