The real transfer fee Celtic will receive for Daniel Cummings as West Ham United ‘agreement done’

Daniel Cummings is finally on his way out of Celtic.

67 Hail Hail reported just before the close of the January transfer window that Cummings had agreed a pre-contract with West Ham United.

Portsmouth were said to be sniffing around the Celtic B goal-scoring phenomenon, but the Hammers were his preferred destination.

West Ham tried to sign Cummings early and lodged a £500k offer in February, but this was rejected by the Hoops.

Now, Celtic may be regretting that decision because it has been confirmed by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano that Cummings will move to West Ham for less.

Cummings to West Ham United gets ‘here we go’ treatment

Romano claims a deal between Celtic and West Ham for the transfer of Cummings has been struck, and he will officially join on July 1.

Cummings’ contract at Celtic is about to expire and it means the Bhoys will only receive a training development compensation fee.

That has been reported to be just £300k, which is a measly sum for a player seemingly with so much potential in his locker.

Romano also noted that Cummings has completed his medical for West Ham and it’s now only a matter of time before he is confirmed.

Cummings impact at Celtic B last season

It’s a shame to see a young striker with bags of ability leave Celtic for such a paltry compensation fee.

Cummings was on fire for Celtic B last season and that earned him a first-team debut for the Hoops against Aston Villa in the Champions League.

The 19-year-old scored six goals in seven UEFA Youth League appearances as Celtic B qualified out of the group stage with three wins.

Moreover, Cummings was deadly in the Lowland League as he netted a stunning 23 goals in 28 games across the 2024/25 season.

West Ham are signing a wonderkid, there’s absolutely no doubting that, while Celtic count the cost of another promising youngster leaving for next to nothing.
