Some signings don’t always work out for Celtic.

Success stories like Henrik Larsson stand the test of time and have become immortalised in Celtic history.

On the other hand, there have been some more forgettable names to walk through the doors at Celtic Park.

Brendan Rodgers is already shifting out the deadwood and has got rid of the likes of Maik Nawrocki and Gustaf Lagerbielke early doors.

Incomings are the priority but other stars could be heading out of the door and the Celtic manager could be adding another one to the list after details of the wage being offered by a potential suitor have been revealed.

Austria Vienna to offer Kwon £173,000 a year wage

Reports revealed that Celtic could sell Hyeokkyu Kwon to Austria Vienna for a fraction of the fee they paid for his services.

Kwon joined the Bhoys for £1m but could be sold for below £200k to the Austrian Bundesliga outfit.

Fussball Europa are claiming that the 23-year-old will be offered a weekly wage of £3,300 to make the switch and Austria Vienna are in pole position to land his signature.

Since joining in 2023, the South Korean has failed to make a single first-team appearance and has had loan spells with Hibernian and St Mirren.

David Gray has already told Celtic what they will miss if they sell Kwon

Last season saw Kwon make the move to Hibernian where he featured 21 times in all competitions.

David Gray made the decision to sign him as one of eight summer arrivals and was immediately impressed by what he saw.

Speaking before Celtic’s game against Hibs in August 2024, Gray gave an insight into the qualities Kwon possesses and what the Bhoys will miss if he leaves permanently.

“We’re seeing it straight away, over the last two days on the grass, he (Kwon) has got real good quality and technical ability but also his physicality as well,” he said.

“He is a really good athlete and covers the ground well.”
