There is hope that, one day, the Celtic board can get something right and do things in a logical manner.
Marcelo Saracchi was on loan at Celtic last season from Boca Juniors, producing several positive displays, including his game-changing cameo from the bench against Hearts on the final day.
Ever since the final ball was kicked following Celtic’s domestic double triumph, many were hoping to see Saracchi return to Glasgow.
Several reports have already indicated that the left-back is fully open to making his move to Celtic permanent.
Yet with the 2026 summer transfer window nearly ten days old, and the non-World Cup Celtic players due to return for pre-season on Friday, the club have made another loan offer for Saracchi, which has been rejected by Boca Juniors, according to the Daily Record.

Would you take Marcelo Saracchi at Celtic permanently?
Marcelo Saracchi is available for ‘£1.5 million’ as Boca Juniors’ stance is clear
So, let’s get this straight? Saracchi had a positive loan spell at Celtic. So much so that the club want him to return, and so does he.
On top of that, his parent club are happy to part ways with him. The fee on the table? £1.5 million, according to the Daily Record, and that at a ‘cut-price’ deal.
What is Celtic’s response? Open talks for Saracchi, but offer a loan, which has been rejected by Boca because they want a permanent transfer.
It has been suggested by the Daily Record that Saracchi’s deal will expire in December 2027, and Boca want him off their books for good.

The Celtic board show their true colours once again
Those in the Celtic boardroom are once again proving why there is so much anger and frustration towards them from the fans, because this is another sign of them penny pinching.
Everything is falling for you here.
The player wants to join. He did very well last season. His club want to sell him, and that at a cut price.
Yet even then, with Martin O’Neill’s backroom staff not even sorted, those in suits are seemingly struggling to bring back a loan player from the previous campaign.
The issue with all of this is that it’s a sign of what is to come. The fears will grow and grow that Celtic will go down the same unwanted rabbit hole of last summer, and that will only result in one type of reaction.
