Celtic had to wait a long time to sign a striker, and then he finally arrived in the form of Tomas Cvancara during the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old is on loan at Celtic from Borussia Monchengladbach, and there is an option to buy the striker at the end of the deal.

Cvancara has made it clear himself that he wants that permanent contract, and he intends to ‘prove’ it to the Celtic board, as well as the supporters.

Tomas Cvancara is searching for a Celtic contract

Cvancara opened up on how life has treated him in Glasgow and how he has settled into the pressure cooker that is Celtic.

The Czech Republic international assisted on his debut, scored against Falkirk, and made a positive impact as the Hoops staged a comeback at Kilmarnock on Sunday.

Either way, the new kid on the block has one intention, and that’s showcasing to the relevant people that he is worthy of being at the club next season.

“I had a good start, but I was already in that situation in Germany,” said Cvancara.

“So, I know that I have to keep going. I want to prove myself. Prove why I came. Maybe if I am going to be good enough, show the board and everyone that they have to sign me for the future.

“This is my goal for the future. I will try to just do my best.”

How has Cvancara been rated by WhoScored?

Comments such as that from Cvancara should be music to the ears of supporters because that’s the type of attitude you want.

When the likes of Reo Hatate are being questioned over their attitude, it’s finally great to see that type of talk because it will spur Martin O’Neill’s side to the title.

Either way, this is how WhoScored have rated Cvancara’s opening four Premiership matches:
