Celtic have been at the centre of a quiet transfer window and it remains to be seen whether things will liven up before the close of play.

Nicolas Kuhn has been introduced to the fold after joining from Rapid Vienna for £3 million; however, he is the only bonafide arrival to walk through the Parkhead entrance this month.

Now into the last stretch of the mid-season market, Brendan Rodgers may look to enact some late business if the opportunity presents itself.

Estoril full-back Tiago Araujo is also someone who has been mentioned in connection with Celtic this window, though it remains to be seen if a move for the 22-year-old will be revisited.

With just over a week left to secure new additions, the Bhoys will need to move quickly before the transfer merry-go-round disappears for another few months.

Celtic to miss out on Elfsborg goalkeeper Hákon Valdimarsson

Looking to the future, Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart’s future has been called into question due to the fact his contract is set to expire in the summer.

Reports indicate that the position has been looked at this window, with Rapid București stopper Horatiu Moldovan considered before it emerged that Atletico Madrid won the race for his services.

In a similar tale, Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath has now indicated that the Hoops have missed out on Elfsborg number one Hákon Valdimarsson to Brentford. Rodgers’ men were named alongside Aston Villa as an interested party in his report.

The outlet claim the 22-year-old will sort out the finer details of his medical before joining up with his new teammates at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Fabrizio Romano has also covered the situation and has confirmed the Iceland international is close to joining Thomas Frank’s men for a fee in the region of £2.6 million, ending any hope of a move to Celtic.

Joe Hart looks set to remain number one at Celtic

Despite speculation over Hart’s future, the former England international looks nailed on to remain in his post as number one for the remainder of the season.

Celtic manager Rodgers shed light on his side’s goalkeeping situation earlier this month, stating: “It’s nothing that we’re looking at just now. There are other areas we have to look at. There will be positions in the summer we’ll be able to improve and it will be the same in January. But I love working with Joe, he’s a great guy. Hopefully, he continues.”

Changing goalkeeper mid-way through the campaign isn’t something that seems likely at Parkhead and Hart looks set to continue between the sticks for the time being.
